Earth Day is an annual event created to raise public awareness about pollution and celebrate the beauty of our environment. Every year on April 22 Earth Day is observed the world over with conferences, outdoor activities and projects.The idea for Earth Day was originated with former American Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin and was first celebrated in 1970. Now an internationally coordinated event Earth day is celebrated by 192 countries.This year CIES, along with our 17E neighbour International Ave's BRZ will be doing a street clean up in Forest Lawn beginning at 10:30 am.
